We need your help at Cadwell on 25th July
The last meeting at Cadwell was nearly cancelled due to a shortage of Marshals so it is important that everyone tries their best to attend this meeting which has attracted a reasonably good entry, which should produce a good days racing.
If you have already said you are coming passes will be enclosed with this newsletter, if not and you are able to come please write Cadwell Passes in large print on the reverse side of the bottom slip and they will be sent to you in a few days.
The cancellation could ruin the club so it is important that everyone tries their best to attend and if possible bring a friend to help make up the numbers.
The meetings in May and June all went very well with an excellent turn out of Marshals particularly the Olivers Mount meetings during Bike Week and the Dalby Forest Hill Climb where we had nearly three times as many marshals as normal which was really good as this is the first time we have been fully manned at this venue.
The next big Olivers Mount date is the 22nd August which has many championship rounds including the National Car Championship, for those who have not been before Marshals enter the circuit at the competitors Paddock and sign on at the Marshals office just through the hill climb start where you’ll be able to park your vehicle when you go on duty.
September sees two important events, September 5th Mallory Park again this is a venue where we may be short of Marshals so again you are asked to make an extra effort to attend this meeting, signing on will be 08.00, there is ample parking the night before for anyone who wants to make it a weekend.
The next big one is the 60th Anniversary Gold Cup at Olivers Mount, already we have got contracts with Carl Foggarty and James Whitham and for this anniversary we are looking more to inviting the 80s and 90s riders to make it different from the 50th anniversary where we had riders from the 50s, 60s and 70s. There will be 2 full days of practice and racing as well as the parades, there will be a Foggarty/Whitham chat show on the Friday and Saturday nights at the Scarborough Spa and live bands and disco both nights in the bikers village at Olivers Mount.
Bus from Scarborough – anyone interested in a lift to Cadwell or Mallory, a minibus will be running from the circuit office, if you are interested give the office a ring and they will give you times etc.
To save postage for everyone we have included the October events on the returns slip below as we could get very busy with the Gold Cup and not have time to send a newsletter out til October.
